Yesterday, the San Francisco Fire Department executed a swift bay rescue after receiving a 911 call about an individual who had perilously entered the waters of the Embarcadero. Units responded immediately and discovered the person in distress beneath the pier, desperately clinging to a structural support. The SFFD employed a range of assets, from Fireboat 3 to surfboard-mounted rescue swimmers, to secure the victim's safety.
The coordination of sea and land-based rescue apparatus by the SFFD was indicative of their well-oiled machine. Ladders extended by land units, precarious along the pier's edge, assisted in identifying the submerged victim.
According to the San Francisco Fire Department Media, once extracted from their dangerous predicament, the victim was taken aboard Fireboat 3.
