Fitchburg will welcome a new restaurant as Tavern in the Square plans to open at the former Singapore Restaurant & Lounge location. The announcement was made today by Mayor Samantha Squailia on her Facebook page.
The New England-based chain is set to debut in 2026 at 170 Whalon Street. Renovations will include an updated kitchen, a large main bar, and seating for over 150 guests indoors and outdoors, with an outdoor patio featuring raised planters.
MassLive reported that the Fitchburg location will join the chain’s existing New England restaurants, including sites in Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Connecticut.
