A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot on Flat Shoals Road in Southeast Atlanta. According to the Atlanta Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:38 p.m. on Sunday.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was walking with a female juvenile toward Fayetteville Road SE when shots were fired from a passing vehicle. The boy was struck while trying to flee and was taken to Grady Hospital by EMS, where he remains in critical condition.
Officers found multiple shell casings at the scene. Investigators are working to determine the motive and identify the suspect or suspects involved. The Atlanta Police Department are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
