An incident on State Highway 2 in Pushmataha County turned tragic when a mother and daughter were struck by a pickup truck while engaged in a physical altercation in the roadway. KTUL reports that the accident occurred late Saturday night, resulting in the death of 22-year-old Emma Marie Linn and leaving her mother, 46-year-old Heather Linn-Schutt, with serious injuries.
According to the KOCO article, the collision happened just before 10:15 p.m. with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol detailing that Linn-Schutt was transported to a hospital in Plano, Texas, to receive treatment for her injuries while Emma Linn was pronounced dead at the scene, unfolding a narrative of sorrow on an otherwise still night on a desolate stretch of highway.
The driver of the pickup, 30-year-old Ricardo Velesquez, was reported to be unharmed in the incident, which interrupted the stark silence of the rural road with the harsh immediacy of a sudden catastrophe.
