Three individuals were arrested at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport over the weekend in connection with the theft of high-end merchandise. The Broward Sheriff’s Office identified the suspects as Javon Darrell Staten, William Arthur Manning, and Rachael Manning, according to CBS12. Items reported stolen included designer perfumes and sneakers.
Authorities said the suspects had traveled from Baltimore and taken items from duty-free shops. As they attempted to board a flight later that evening, deputies intercepted them. NBC Miami reported that Staten tried to flee, discarding stolen goods, but was taken into custody.
All three suspects face charges of grand theft and fraud, while Staten also faces charges of resisting an officer without violence and violating probation. The Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed the stolen merchandise was recovered.
