Three individuals were hospitalized after a shooting incident late Tuesday night in Mesa, as detailed in a report from FOX 10 Phoenix. The event occurred just after 11 p.m. near Lindsay Road and University Drive, where Mesa Police swiftly responded to reports of gunfire and a sighting of someone running from the area. "Officers responded and located three gunshot wound victims," Det. Jesse Macias said, confirming their stable condition.
Detectives are currently piecing together the circumstances that led to this violent episode. Despite the presence of multiple firearms recovered at the scene, authorities have confirmed that there are no outstanding suspects at this time. As of yet, the identities and motivations behind the incident remain undisclosed to the public, with victims described only as two males and one female.
Further developments were provided by Arizona's Family, which revealed that during the shooting scene investigation, police received another call regarding an unauthorized person entering a house merely a block away from the initial crime site. Arizona's Family observed the apprehension, noting, "Several armed police officers go into a home, and one person came out with his arms in the air." That individual was detained for possible links to the shooting.
Providing insight into the detention, Det. John Dreyer explained, "We were able to confirm that the person inside the house was related, unsure of his involvement, but he did not appear to be injured." Dreyer further suggested that witnesses placed him at or around the scene. The detained individual allegedly entered the house through an open window and was found inside one of the bedrooms. This new angle expanded the scope of the investigation, leading to further inquiries into the extent of the individual's involvement.
No injuries were reported among the residents of the home involved in the follow-up operation. The ongoing investigation, according to Mesa Police, has not resulted in any significant road closures or disruptions.
