A fatal shooting occurred early Saturday morning last week at the Executive Inn in Tulsa, resulting in the death of a 22-year-old man. According to the Tulsa Police Department's Facebook page, officers responded to the scene at 11328 E. 11th Street around 2:30 a.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at 2:47 a.m. A mask and a firearm were found near his body.

A man at the scene admitted to being the shooter and voluntarily identified himself to officers. The shooter and his girlfriend told detectives that the victim, wearing a mask, had knocked on their hotel room door looking for someone who was not there. After the first interaction, the shooter armed himself before reopening the door. When the masked man returned, the shooter allegedly warned him to leave.

According to the shooter’s statement, the victim lifted his shirt and reached for a gun, prompting the shooter to fire once before calling 911. No charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing. All findings will be forwarded to the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office for review.
