
On Thursday evening in East Hamblen County, two people were found dead in a home, the Hamblen County Sheriff's Office confirmed. Deputies arrived around 9:45 p.m. after a 911 call was left open. A handgun was found near one of the bodies, according to WVLT.
Authorities in Tennessee responded to a home where a man and a woman were found unresponsive with gunshot wounds, one in the family room and the other on the couch, as reported by WBIR. The Major Crime Unit is handling the ongoing investigation, and the victims’ names have not been released as families are being notified.
Detectives from the Hamblen County Sheriff's Office’s Criminal Investigation Division are leading a criminal investigation into the deaths, as per WATE. No arrests have been made, and the Sheriff's Office has not commented on the cause. In a press release, they said, "Deputies cleared and secured the scene and detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division were called to conduct the investigation," as mentioned by WVLT.
