Early this morning, Monroe Police responded to the 800 block of Harrison Street, where two 50-year-old men were found with serious knife injuries. One had a deep cut on his leg, and the other had a puncture wound to his abdomen. Both were treated by officers at the scene and then taken to local hospitals for further care, as reported by the Monroe Public Safety Department.

Officers identified a 40-year-old woman as a suspect at the scene. She was also injured. A knife with blood on it, believed to have been used in the incident, was recovered nearby. Authorities said the altercation stemmed from relationships among the people involved, who had been drinking together before the incident. The Monroe Public Safety Department stated, "All parties were found to be heavily intoxicated."

A woman was treated for minor injuries before being booked into the Monroe County Jail on a charge of Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm Less than Murder, according to the Monroe Public Safety Department on their Facebook page. The department said the case is still under investigation and asked anyone with information to contact Detective McKenzie at (734) 243-7517. They also noted the response from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Monroe Fire, and MCA.
