Tragedy struck early Monday morning at the intersection of 21st and Memorial in Tulsa where a severe vehicle collision left two men deceased. According to a Facebook post by the Tulsa Police Department, officers responded to the crash around 2:10 a.m. on October 5th.
The initial investigation revealed that a Jeep Wrangler, traveling eastbound on 21st, collided with a Dodge Dakota heading south on Memorial. The impact was such that it caused the Dodge to careen into and wrap around a traffic signal pole, while the Jeep struck a wooden utility pole. The collision ejected both occupants of the Dodge, one of whom died at the scene, and the other succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital. The driver of the Jeep was reportedly not injured, as reported by the Tulsa Police Department.
As of now, the investigation continues, with the Tulsa Police's Advanced Traffic Investigators thoroughly analyzing all available evidence. In a statement obtained by the Tulsa Police Department, they emphasized that "the vast majority of collisions are avoidable," urging the public to remain cautious on the roads.
