Following a violent encounter in the Ville neighborhood, two suspects are now in police custody after a shooting that took the life of a young man and wounded one of the alleged perpetrators. The incident unfolded on the 4300 block of St. Ferdinand on September 19, at approximately 5:30PM, as stated by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Officers who responded to the scene discovered 23-year-old Keyshaun Carmel with gunshot injuries. He was promptly taken to a hospital but succumbed to his wounds.
Shortly after locating Carmel, officers received another call regarding a shooting near W. Florissant and Adelaide. Arriving at the scene, they discovered a 23-year-old female, alongside another woman, both apparent suspects in Carmel's shooting, with one of them also suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to the hospital in stable condition, her destiny entangled with the very violence that took Carmel's life.
Homicide Detectives have taken charge of the investigation, piecing together the tragic tapestry of events that evening. According to their findings, an altercation erupted when the two female suspects, aged 23 and 27, confronted Carmel, which unfortunately escalated into an exchange of gunfire.
