Last Friday, Union City residents faced a distressing incident as several armed individuals attempted to invade a home on Tidewater Drive. At around 7:45 AM, police received a call from the 30900 block reporting the presence of suspects, initially believed to be involved in a potential kidnapping. The Union City Police Department was quick to clarify, based on their preliminary investigation, that the event was an attempted home invasion robbery, and not an abduction as originally thought.

Fearing for her safety, upon spotting the approaching figures adorned in dark attire and face masks, a juvenile female took no chances, fleeing back to the sanctuary of her residence. With her family, she raised the alarm. While the suspects, described as four males wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and face masks and armed with handguns, decided to make their escape in a white Ford Taurus, after facing confrontation by the residents, reportedly.

This unsettling occurrence, it seems, stands alone, separate from an earlier reported attempted kidnapping earlier the same week. "This incident appears to be unrelated to the attempted kidnapping reported earlier this week, as the circumstances and suspect descriptions are not consistent between the two cases," reported the Union City Police Department.
