In a concerning development, the Union City Police Department is currently investigating an attempted kidnapping that took place yesterday, not far from Itliong-Vera Cruz Middle School. The incident occurred at the intersection of Dyer Street and Meteor Drive in Union City, according to a report released by the department.
A young girl, aged 11, reported that while she was on her way to school on her scooter, an unidentified male attempted to abduct her by grabbing her sweatshirt's hood. Fortunately, the courageous juvenile managed to escape and immediately sought help from her school's staff, who notified the police, as per the Union City Police Department.
The suspect has been described as a tall, heavy-set male, donned in a black hoodie with the hood covering his head, and his face obscured by a mask. Witnesses or anyone with any related information, particularly about a dark-colored sedan that may be connected to the suspect, are encouraged to come forward.
