Utah State University Moab is rolling out the blue carpet for local businesses with their upcoming "Paint the Town Blue" event, an initiative to bolster community spirit and Aggie pride. From October 13 to 17, establishments have the chance to splash their spaces with university colors and vie for the best design, which will net a trophy. Moreover, a scholarship in the winning business's name will go to a future USU student, providing a tangible benefit to the academic community, according to USU Today.
Starting October 1, businesses interested in this creative showdown can grab their free decoration kits from the USU Moab campus, packed with paint and other decorative items. An announcement on USU's website quoted interim associate vice president for USU Moab, Samantha Campbell, expressing excitement for the event. "We know that local residents are proud to have Utah State University in their backyard, and we can't wait to see the creativity these businesses use as they deck out their windows and stores in Aggie Blue,” Campbell said, as per USU Today.
Located amidst Moab's picturesque landscape, USU Moab is known not just for its range of coursework from Nursing to Social Work but also for its environmentally conscious facilities, one of the greenest buildings on any USU campus. The presence of USU in Moab is a nod to the balance of intimate learning experiences with the resources matching those of larger institutions. It's a relationship that cultivates the region's economy while galvanizing the locals.
