The UTEP Athletics department has set itself apart with a landmark fundraising achievement, surpassing its previous record by securing more than $12 million in the 2024-2025 fiscal year. This financial feat was orchestrated under the banner of the Miner Athletic Club, the fundraising branch of the athletics department.
According to UTEP Miners, the fundraising campaign amassed $12,001,571, stepping over the prior record by a cool $1 million. A significant slice of that pie, precisely $7.7 million, is earmarked for the Climb Higher campaign. This initiative is designed to bolster the Miners' preparations as they gear up to join the Mountain West Conference come 2026
Jim Senter, wearing the hat of UTEP Vice President and Director of Athletics, expressed pride in the support from "Miner Nation," acknowledging the role of the athletic club's team in fostering relationships with donors. As obtained by UTEP Miners, Senter said, "Our Miner Athletic Club team has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to connect with our donors in a meaningful way. Their hard work, coupled with the passionate support of our donors, has enabled us to raise monies for talent acquisition, fund student-athlete scholarships, and make needed capital improvements to enhance the student-athlete experience."
