Residents of Harvest Circle in Vacaville witnessed an intense standoff yesterday when police responded to a report of an armed man, later identified as Lucky Ceasar Romero, who allegedly brandished a firearm at his neighbor. According to a social media post from the Vacaville Police Department, officers arrived on scene around 9:45 AM after the neighbor reported Romero had made threatening comments and displayed a weapon from his waistband.
Following a failed attempt to detain Romero, who retreated into his residence, police secured an arrest warrant and search warrant for the suspect's home. The ensuing situation required the intervention of SWAT and Vacaville's Critical Incident Negotiation Team, whose efforts were centered on de-escalating the standoff.
It took nearly five hours, but the narrative ended as Romero surrendered around 2:25 PM, according to the Vacaville Police. He was taken into custody without further incident and faced multiple charges related to the encounter. The search of his residence ensued, leading to the seizure of at least one firearm.
