Miami-Dade County Vice Chairman Kionne L. McGhee and the Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust (MDEAT) have teamed up to launch a program aimed at fostering financial literacy and laying the groundwork for generational wealth in the community. The Generations of Wealth initiative starts on November 6, with a two-part series tailored to inspire families and entrepreneurs to build lasting economic legacies.

Vice Chairman McGhee emphasized the importance of setting a strong foundation at home when it comes to wealth building, and he's putting the focus on instilling these values within the youth. “The path to generational wealth begins with strong families, solid values and the belief that success starts at home," McGhee stated, according to a press release by Miami-Dade County. The program kicks off with an assembly at Homestead Senior High School where students will engage with business leaders to discuss entrepreneurship and financial skill sets.

Later the same day, Part Two: The Legacy Continues takes place at Miami Dade College Homestead Campus, with a panel including business leaders and entrepreneurs sharing their experiences and emphasizing the roles of mentorship and perseverance. This evening event is open to the public and those interested can register for free via the MDEAT's event page. Bill Diggs, Executive Director of MDEAT, highlighted the collaborative effort stating, "The Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust (MDEAT) is proud to stand alongside Vice Chairman McGhee in advancing conversations that turn knowledge into opportunity," in the same press release.

The Generations of Wealth series is part of Miami-Dade County's broader commitment to empowering its residents through various channels such as education and economic opportunities. Members of the press are encouraged to participate and share in the initiative's vision and have been invited to attend, with requests for media interviews to be confirmed in advance.
