A fatal crash occurred on Louisiana Highway 15 north of U.S. Highway 425 last night, claiming the life of 59-year-old Timothy McCullar of West Monroe. According to Louisiana State Police, the incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. when a northbound 2004 Dodge Ram struck McCullar, who was standing in the lane wearing dark clothing.
The driver of the Dodge, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured. McCullar sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers stated that impairment is not suspected, but routine toxicology samples were collected for analysis.
Louisiana State Police reminded both drivers and pedestrians to practice safety, noting that pedestrian crashes are often preventable through visibility, attentiveness, and proper roadway use. The investigation remains ongoing.
