Residents and visitors in Wickenburg are set to see changes along US 60, as the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will be making improvements to the sidewalks and driveways. Starting in late October, the upgrades are intended to bring the current infrastructure up to Americans with Disabilities Act standards, which means better accessibility for everyone.
The focus will be on the stretch between Vulture Mine Road and US 93, where sidewalks, sidewalk ramps, as well as driveways and curbs/gutters, will see improvements. Construction is scheduled from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, with ADOT assuring no work on Fridays or holidays.
One notable impact on traffic flow will be lane restrictions, with US 60 being narrowed to a single lane for travel in each direction during construction hours. Businesses shouldn't be caught off guard, though, as ADOT has committed to communicating driveway construction schedules ahead of starting at those specific locations.
