A Williamson County corrections officer is facing a felony family violence assault charge after an off-duty incident. Jake Irvan Jimenez, who has been employed at the Williamson County Jail for over two years, was arrested following allegations of an event that took place on September 29 at his residence outside Jarrell. CBS Austin reported that the incident was brought to the attention of the Williamson County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Crimes Unit the next day, which led to the subsequent investigation.

According to information obtained by KVUE, Jimenez turned himself in to authorities around 9 a.m. on Monday, October 6. He was then placed on administrative leave, which will continue to pay him pending the outcome of the investigation. This move comes as an administrative protocol often followed in such cases where officers are under scrutiny for alleged misconduct.

Sheriff Matthew Lindemann from the Williamson County Sheriff's Office emphasized that such behavior is not representative of the department's ethics. "The seriousness of these allegations does not reflect the values or commitment of the dedicated men and women of the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, who work each day to ensure the safety and well-being of our community," he stated, in a comment provided to both CBS Austin and KVUE.

Jimenez, who has served 2.5 years as a corrections officer, remains on the sidelines as the investigation into the allegations continues to unfold. Officials have yet not release specific details regarding the nature of the family violence assault charge. While the sheriff's office looks to maintain its commitment to community safety, there are procedures in place to ensure that justice is duly served, both for the officer and the alleged victim alike.
