Commuters in Wright County should prepare for some rerouting as the intersection of County Highway 35 and County Highway 8 in Marysville and Chatham Townships is scheduled to shut down starting October 20th, 2025, according to an announcement on the Wright County website. This closure is part of the initial groundwork for a roundabout slated for construction the following year, and the roads are expected to be closed for about three weeks if weather permits.
The detour plans involve directing traffic through County Highway 9, County Highway 8, and County Highway 132, signaling alterations also to the detour route for the CSAH 8 bridge to skirt the intersection shutdown. The soil correction effort is a preparatory step for the planned 2026 roundabout, which aims to enhance traffic flow and safety in what is likely recognized as a complex transportation node.
