In the early hours of a quiet Sunday in Casa Grande, tragedy struck on the railroad tracks at Trekell Road, just south of Jimmie Kerr Boulevard, where a 24-year-old man lost his life, his identity remains undisclosed, after his vehicle was hit by not one but two Union Pacific trains traveling in opposite directions, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
The initial collision was reported at approximately 3:07 a.m. by Union Pacific operators, the vehicle had been parked on the tracks, ensnared within the protective crossing arms; this was then promptly followed by a second impact from an eastbound train, which compounded the tragic circumstance further, this information surfaced in a statement obtained by AZ Family.
When Casa Grande Police Department and firefighters arrived, they found the young driver dead in his car on the railroad tracks. It’s still unclear why the car was there. Detectives have started investigating, and thankfully, no one else was hurt, as per AZ Family.
