The suspect, identified as Kevin Carl Welch, faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the early Sunday morning incident, as reported by the El Paso Times.
Authorities were called to the 200 block of Lombardy Avenue at around 5:30 a.m. On Sunday, a 59-year-old man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital, but his condition remains undisclosed, according to KFOX-TV. The investigation, spearheaded by the El Paso Police Department's Crimes Against Persons Unit, led to Welch's arrest later that day.
