
A tragic incident occurred in Provo last Sunday when a 72-year-old man on a mobility scooter was fatally struck by a car. The Provo Police Department responded to the accident that took place on State Street shortly after 1 p.m., as per KUTV.
The elderly man was crossing the street away from any crosswalk or intersection when he was hit. While the police were cooperating with the driver of the vehicle, the man was transported to Utah Valley Hospital, according to KSLTV.
As an investigation into the tragedy continues, the initial findings suggest that the fatal incident did not involve any form of intersection-based crossing. According to ABC4, the man was not using a crosswalk at the time he was struck.
