The Miami Police Department has reported the arrest of Alan Henry Triana, 38, the sibling of a man involved in a fatal shootout with Miami officers last month. Triana was apprehended following a road rage incident in Miami where he allegedly discharged a firearm at another driver, as per Local 10 News.

Trouble began for Triana, when the victim honked his horn at Triana's white Chevrolet Corvette and subsequently, was allegedly met with an aggressive gesture and a pointed black handgun. As detailed by the victim, Triana followed him, and during a real-time phone call with law enforcement, opened fire on his vehicle. A piece of evidence key to pinpointing Triana at the scene of the incident was his GPS ankle monitor data, as he had been out on bond in connection with different charges. NBC Miami reported that police identified Triana's Corvette parked at his residence and later detained him.

Investigations leading to his arrest included the victim's dash camera footage which captured the Corvette before the shots were fired, NBC Miami states. Triana, who was arrested on a Sunday night, now faces several charges including aggravated assault with a firearm and cocaine possession after authorities discovered drugs during a search.

While in custody, Triana invoked self-defense during a phone call to his girlfriend, stating another driver had "almost crashed into us and shot at me and called the police on me," according to a police report. His attorney subsequently advised him to cease communication with investigators. Alan Triana's arrest comes swiftly after the incident involving his brother, Mason Triana, who had fired shots at Miami police officers, leading to two injuries before barricading himself in his home, where he was found dead, as reported by Local 10.

He is currently being held on a $20,000 bond and is due for further legal proceedings.
