Early Monday morning, a BP Gas Station at 3276 Poplar Avenue became the scene of an armed business robbery. At approximately 3:02 AM, surveillance footage showed two male suspects entering the premises. Memphis Police officials reported that one individual wielded a gun, aggressively threatening the employee on duty and smashing a display case glass in a menacing show of intent, according to a report from the Memphis Police Department.
The duo proceeded to stuff a Crown Royal bag with an assortment of goods, predominantly $6,000 worth of cigarettes and vape products, a haul suggestive of a targeted theft for high-revenue items. The pair then made their escape on foot, heading north, and blended into the pre-dawn obscurity, according to the police narrative.
Authorities are actively seeking information from the public that could lead to the apprehension of the suspects linked to this felony. A request has been made for anyone with knowledge about the incident to come forward. The Memphis Police Department encourages potential witnesses or anyone with relevant information to contact Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH (2274), assuring confidentiality to all informants.
