Austin Police Department robbery detectives are on the lookout for a man accused of robbing a Home Depot and assaulting a store employee. The incident happened on Thursday, October 2nd, around lunchtime at the Home Depot located at 13309 N. IH-35 SVRD NB. Detectives are reaching out to the public to help identify the suspect, whose description and surveillance photos have been released by the department.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s to mid-30s with a medium build and a buzz cut hairstyle. Witnesses last saw him dressed in a black t-shirt decorated with Pokemon, a gold chain necklace, blue jeans, and grey sneakers with white soles. He fled the scene in a vehicle, identified as a grey or silver Ford Taurus, leaving an employee injured in his wake.

According to a statement from the Austin Police Department, they're requesting anyone with information to get in touch. APD's Robbery unit can be contacted at 512-974-5092, and tips can also be submitted anonymously to the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program. Informants could receive a reward of up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.

This robbery is the latest in a string of crimes involving assaults on retail employees. Austin community members are urged to contribute any relevant information, no matter how seemingly insignificant.
