
Authorities have apprehended a Bainbridge man on serious allegations involving sexual abuse of a minor. Per information released by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), David Clayton Kelly, 42, faces charges that include two counts of Child Molestation, Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes, and Aggravated Sexual Battery.
The investigation that led to Kelly's incarceration began when the Bainbridge Public Safety Department requested the GBI to assist on October 28, 2025. Investigators have since worked to piece together alleged offenses dating from March 2024 to October 2025 in Decatur County. These efforts quickly unfolded to reveal that the accused was reportedly familiar with the teenage victim. The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office was also involved in the collaborative effort to securely arrest Kelly.
Following his arrest on October 29, Kelly was placed in the Decatur County Jail. As the investigation continues to delve deeper, the GBI has made a public appeal for assistance.
