
In early morning of Saturday, tragedy unfolded on Manchester near Tamm Ave., when a 57-year-old bicyclist was struck by a vehicle. Information released by St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) details the incident, indicating that District 2 officers responded to the scene shortly after the collision.
The preliminary investigation reveals that the man, who was pedaling eastward on Manchester when the accident occurred, was hit by a blue Infinity car traveling in the same direction. The driver of the Infinity has been noted to have remained on scene after the forbidding incident, as per the police report.
Further grim news followed as it was later confirmed by the SLMPD that the man succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital. The victim's identity has not been released, respecting the privacy considerations during these times of loss and grief.
