
The City of Bloomington has recently racked up an impressive collection of accolades for its communication and engagement efforts, with a total of nine awards from both state and national contests. Among these recognitions, the Minnesota Association of Government Communicators bestowed three first-place Northern Lights Awards upon the city for their forward-thinking embrace of social media trends, the local news series Bloomington Today, and its Notable Neighbor video series, which shines a spotlight on community members making a difference.
According to the City's announcement, other accolades included second-place Silver Awards for its Moving Bloomington Forward Annual Report, the Bloomington Briefing newsletter, and its communications strategy centered around the Nine Mile Creek Corridor Renewal. Moreover, third-place Bronze Awards were given to the Discover Bloomington project and the State of the City 2024 presentation, signifying a broad and consistent effort across various platforms to keep residents informed and involved.
It's not just local recognition that Bloomington has been garnering. On the national stage, the 3CMA Savvy Awards competition recognized Bloomington's strides in community engagement around the Nine Mile Creek Corridor with a first-place award. Additionally, the city received a third-place award for its Notable Neighbor video series, a project that has evidently captured the attention of judging panels at multiple levels.
