Bloomington residents have a chance to voice their opinions on a proposed daycare facility. The Bloomington Planning Commission announced a public hearing set for December 18, 2025, to discuss a Conditional Use permit for a new daycare center at 400 E American Boulevard. Those interested in the developmental trajectory of their neighborhood will find this meeting an important venue for participation and comment.
The public hearing will convene at 6:00 pm either in the Council Chambers at the Bloomington Civic Plaza, located at 1800 West Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, Minnesota, or through electronic means—a nod to persisting adaptations born from previous global upheavals. Case #PL2025-182 will be under consideration, as stated in a public notice released by the city.
Various ways are available for community members to follow the proceedings or weigh in. Attendees can show up in person, watch on BTV through Comcast channels 859 or 14, or stream online via the city's website at blm.mn/btv-live or on their YouTube channel at blm.mn/youtube. Those wishing to provide testimony can join by phone and will have the opportunity to speak during the hearing by following a system to "raise your hand." Detailed instructions for phone participation and planning documents can be reviewed at www.blm.mn/notices.
For residents who can't make the live session, email or voicemail testimonies are accepted until noon on the day of the hearing. Elizabeth O'Day, the planner in charge, is the point of contact for further queries or comment submissions. She can be reached at the Bloomington Civic Plaza, through her phone number (952) 563-8919, or via email at [email protected]. This gives constituents a direct line for matters that may affect the daily rhythms of their lives and their children's lives.
