A Boca Raton woman found herself behind bars not once, but twice, in a span of less than a week for her alleged involvement in organized retail thefts. Tatyana Shavone Johnson was first apprehended on October 31, after a theft at Dick's Sporting Goods, and again last Tuesday for reportedly resuming her thefts at local Publix stores.
Efforts by the Boca Raton Police, alongside the South Florida Criminal Apprehension Team, led to Johnson's arrest. She is accused of having first stolen merchandise worth approximately $700 from Dick's Sporting Goods. After being released from custody on November 1, Johnson appears to have immediately resumed her illicit activities, this time targeting Publix stores and appropriating goods worth $1,400, according to NBC Miami.
Following her second arrest, Johnson was taken back into custody by police, who recovered $1,400 worth of stolen items. The Boca Raton Tribune reported that the suspect is now being held at the Palm Beach County Jail with no bond.
"During their investigation, Johnson was arrested on Halloween after she allegedly stole $700 worth of merchandise from a Dick's Sporting Goods," the Boca Raton Police detailed in a narrative that reflects a straightforward chain of events, as noted by NBC Miami. Johnson's case is presently pending as law enforcement continues to investigate the extent of her alleged involvement in organized retail thefts.
