
Yesterday, Boston police arrested 54-year-old Efrain Rivera for shoplifting at a store on 800 Boylston Street. Officers from District 4 were alerted to Rivera, described as a Black male wearing a plaid hat, glasses, beige sweater, jeans, and a black backpack.
According to the Boston Police Department release, Rivera attempted to flee on foot toward Huntington Avenue after passing all points of sale. Police caught up with him outside the store and recovered stolen clothing valued at approximately $1,140 from his backpack.
Rivera, who has prior larceny convictions, was charged with shoplifting and being a common and notorious thief. His arraignment is scheduled in Boston Municipal Court.
