Lovette, 64, lost his life on Saturday, November 22, when the 2003 Subaru Baja he was driving veered off the road and collided with a tree. The fatal incident, occurring near the intersection of Messina Road and Kincaid Boat Road, prompted a response from Louisiana State Police Troop E at approximately 1:18 p.m.
According to the Louisiana State Police, the Subaru was headed north when, for reasons yet to be fully understood, Lovette lost control of the vehicle. The car subsequently left the roadway and made impact against a nearby tree. Reports indicate that Lovette was not using a seat belt at the time of the accident, and he sustained injuries that led to his death at the scene.
