In a post on their Facebook page, the department stated that their plow crews began their routes at 2 a.m. to ensure roads were ready for the morning commute and holiday travel.
With the prospect of roads bustling with holiday traffic, the Carver County Public Works shared a few safety tips for drivers on the road. "As you head out today, please help keep everyone safe," the department emphasized, recommending that drivers leave early, take their time, and maintain a safe distance behind snowplows. They also urged motorists to slow down and provide enough room for the crews to work effectively, understanding the conditions might warrant extra precautions.
In response to the advisories, local travelers have been mostly receptive, acknowledging the importance of respecting the space and pace of plow crews for the benefit of all. "We appreciate your patience and wish you safe, smooth travels this holiday week," the Carver County Public Works stated.
