Designed to provide an extensive look at the numerous divisions and bureaus of an internationally accredited municipal police department, the program offers a rotation through different areas to help students understand the multifaceted role of the police in the community. "Students will rotate through a diverse array of divisions and bureaus to gain an in-depth understanding of the role of a police department in the community and how police departments fulfill their mission to keep their communities a safe place to live, work, and visit," the Chesterfield Missouri Police Department stated. The program stipulates that applicants be full-time students at an accredited college or university, with a pronounced interest in law enforcement careers.
Requirements for the prospective interns include the submission of an application, resume and a letter of recommendation from a professor at their school.
