A serious incident occurred on the 600 block of Cypress Drive yesterday, when Memphis Police responded to reports of kidnapping and auto theft. The Memphis Police Department stated that the events took place around 7 p.m. near North Trezevant and Summer Avenue.
A DoorDash delivery driver briefly left her vehicle to make a food delivery when two individuals, a Black male and a Black female, entered the car without permission. Unaware to them, the driver’s nine-year-old daughter was in the backseat. The suspects quickly abandoned the vehicle, and the child was unharmed, fleeing on foot toward Overton Park.
The Memphis Police Department provided descriptions of the suspects to assist in their capture. The male was described as wearing ripped black jeans and a black hoodie, while the female wore pink leggings, a black beanie, and a black hoodie with “Memphis” in teal letters.
