In a compassionate response to the ongoing federal shutdown, the City of Cincinnati, together with Greater Cincinnati Water Works (GCWW), has announced a temporary halt to water shutoffs for customers facing financial hardship.
According to the City of Cincinnati, residents who are either recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or federal employees who have been furloughed can maintain their water services by contacting GCWW. To avail of this emergency measure, eligible customers need to provide necessary documentation, such as an EBT card for SNAP or an official furlough notice.

Affected residents are encouraged to call GCWW at 513-591-7700 to verify their eligibility and prevent any disruptions to their water supply. The offer stands as a temporary relief with the expectation that normal billing policies will resume once the federal shutdown concludes.
