The Clermont County Animal Shelter is embarking on an ambitious project to expand its outdoor kennel space and enhance its laundry facilities, aiming to improve the welfare of animals in its care. According to Clermont County, a recent update from the shelter, construction teams have commenced the kennel expansion that will increase the number of outdoor spaces from 23 to 53, at a cost of $141,000.
These new kennels, designed using materials resistant to wear from dogs' gnawing and chewing, fit within the kennel area's current boundaries. The report highlights the benefits of the outdoor kennels, especially in facilitating the daily and thorough cleaning of the indoor kennels by providing a space for dogs to stay during these periods. In parallel with the kennel work, the shelter's laundry facility is also undergoing renovations.
