The Switzer Library has reported a shortage of donations, specifically noting a need for men’s socks, haircare products, and deodorant. "Since July, the library at 266 Roswell St., Marietta 30060, has provided community members in need access to the Care Cabinet containing free hygiene products," library officials told Cobb County. The program provides community members with essential personal care items in a discreet manner.
The Care Cabinet accepts a variety of unused and unopened items, including facial tissues, hand sanitizer, soap, women’s socks, menstrual products, toothbrushes, and travel-size toiletries. These items, while not typically collected in standard food drives, provide important personal care resources for community members.
Modeled after an initiative at South Cobb Regional Library, Switzer's Care Cabinets provide community members with access to essential items. South Cobb’s list of accepted donations also includes bottled water and quart- and sandwich-size zipper storage bags. Residents of Cobb are invited to contribute to these hygiene product donation drives. Donations should follow the specified guidelines to ensure they are safe and suitable for distribution.
These drives are part of Cobb County's community programs, offering resources as the holiday season nears. Details on participation or contributions are available on the Cobb County or at the participating library locations.
