The FBI has joined the search for Amy Grace Robertson, a 16-year-old Georgia girl who has been missing for more than a week from the small southeast Georgia city of Alma. Robertson was reported missing on October 21, and despite searches of nearby woods and leads chased into neighboring counties, authorities say they still have not found her.
Officials confirmed Friday that the FBI is assisting in the search, according to WJCL. Robertson was last seen around 6:30 p.m. on October 21 walking away from her home in Alma, as reported by WTOC. Alma police have said she was reported missing from a home off Floyd Street, according to CBS News Atlanta.
Woods Searched, Leads Followed Into Other Counties
Alma police officers, members of the crime suppression unit, and Bacon County deputies searched a wooded area near Robertson's home but did not find her, WJCL reported. In an October 26 update, police said they had followed calls and leads into surrounding counties, including Bulloch and Chatham, but still had not located her, per the same account.
CBS News Atlanta reported that the leads chased so far have turned out to be dead ends, and that authorities hope someone can help find her. The station also reported that Robertson weighs around 120 pounds, adding detail to the description police have circulated as the search stretches on.
What Robertson Looks Like, What She Was Wearing
Robertson is 5 feet 3 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes, according to WTOC. She was last seen wearing black sweatpants featuring multiple colors and patterns, along with a blue sweater, according to Hazlehurst Now.
That same report from Hazlehurst Now also detailed a separate missing-teen case in the region: 14-year-old Kenzleigh Floyd, last seen in Jesup on October 20 at roughly 12:19 p.m. Authorities have not announced any connection between the two cases.
How to Report Information
Anyone with information about Robertson's whereabouts is asked to contact Investigator Sgt. Z. Sarro with the Alma-Bacon County Crime Suppression Unit at 912-632-8751, WJCL reported. CBS News Atlanta likewise noted that people with information can contact the Bacon County Sheriff's Office as the search for the teenager continues.
