A hit-and-run incident in Cobb County has left a pedestrian with serious injuries and local police are currently on the hunt for the driver responsible. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the collision occurred on South Cobb Drive near Waldrep Circle at around 7:19 p.m., where a Hispanic male pedestrian was struck by a newer-model Chevrolet Silverado while crossing the road outside of a marked crosswalk.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in the aftermath of the crash - which was severe enough that the vehicle believed to be involved is likely to show significant damage to its front end, particularly the grille area and authorities at Cobb County Police Department’s STEP Unit are calling on the public for any information about the vehicle or its driver, with the plea for assistance broadcast through local news outlets.
Further developments have been provided by WSB Radio, revealing that the vehicle in question, a 2019 Chevy Silverado has been located however, the search for the person who was behind the wheel at the time of the incident continues as police work to piece together the circumstances that left a 20-year-old man in a critical condition.
