The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert to notify the public of a crime that involved a 16-year-old male victim.
According to the Chicago Police Department's notice, the robbery occurred around 4:30 p.m. on the 0-100 block of E. 35th St., with three individuals being sought in connection with the incident, the suspects described as three black males, one in a light-colored flannel jacket, another in a black hooded sweater with a graphic design paired with black pants and black and white gym shoes and the last in a white t-shirt and red pants.
The alert has emphasized vigilance for those using public transit. Recommendations include being aware of one's surroundings, remembering specific details such as bus or train numbers, and immediately reporting any activity deemed suspicious. These precautions bolster personal security and aid law enforcement in maintaining public safety.
Authorities are urging anyone confronted by an assailant to remain calm, to avoid pursuit, and to report any distinctive characteristics of the assailant, pressing the emergency button and alerting a Transit Attendant are critical steps alongside calling 911 to provide a detailed description of the location and offender, such measures seek to ensure the swift action of emergency services and the potential apprehension of suspects.
