Conyers city officials have postponed changes to the city charter until 2026. The delay allows for input from incoming city leaders and the public following a town hall meeting on Wednesday last week.
According to the City of Conyers, Mayor Vince Evans stated that after months of revisions and discussions, the council decided to hold off on charter updates until the 2026 city council planning retreat.
The city’s current council-manager system, in place for 50 years, will remain unchanged. Officials said the delay ensures new council members and the mayor can provide input before any future revisions are considered.
