The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide following a shooting at the intersection of Del Rio Drive and State Route 260 in Cottonwood. The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, when deputies arrived to find an adult male receiving medical aid. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to a Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office release, the confrontation began after the victim and suspect parked their vehicles next to each other. Both the victim and the suspect’s passenger exited their vehicles, leading to a physical altercation. During the fight, Henry Greer, 53, of Cottonwood, allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot the victim twice.

Greer has been arrested and charged with First-Degree Homicide. The investigation remains active as detectives continue collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.
