
DeKalb County is seeing changes in its transportation leadership with the appointment of Sarah Galica to the MARTA Board of Directors by CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson. Galica, currently Vice President of Transportation at The Home Depot, will participate in overseeing the county’s transit system expansion.
Galica’s appointment brings her corporate experience into the public sector, with a focus on supporting public transit development in DeKalb County. Cochran-Johnson said, “I’m thrilled to appoint a highly qualified individual who shares my passion for the expansion of transit.” The statement notes that Galica’s technical expertise and experience in transportation are expected to contribute to guiding DeKalb County’s transit initiatives.
As a member of the MARTA Board, Galica will have the opportunity to support and implement transit initiatives for DeKalb County’s community. Cochran-Johnson told DeKalb County, “Over the next several years, DeKalb will make major moves toward advancing mass transit as we prepare for the region’s future.”
