Transportation will follow a Sunday schedule on Thursday, with detours and closures expected for the Turkey Trot and America's Thanksgiving Parade. Drivers can take advantage of free metered parking on Thursday and Friday, while garages like the Ford Underground and Eastern Market remain open with specified rates, as reported by the City of Detroit.
On the holiday, the Detroit People Mover will run from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a Hot Cocoa and Handwarmers event at Grand Circus Park Station from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Service will extend until midnight on Friday. The Times Square Station will be closed for winter platform resurfacing. City services like tax and fee payments, permit applications, and DDOT passes are available online, and the Improve Detroit app can be used to report issues like illegal dumping or broken streetlights, as stated by the City of Detroit.
