According to ClickOnDetroit, the 14-year-old has been missing since Monday, Oct. 27, and did not return home after leaving without permission. Desmond is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, with black hair, brown eyes, and weighing 115 pounds.

At the time of his disappearance, he was seen wearing a black 'Nike' jacket, black pants, and gray sandals. The authorities are concerned for his wellbeing and are seeking any information that could aid in his safe return. In an effort to reach a broader audience, the Detroit Police Department's Missing Persons unit has also shared an alert on social media, including a photo of Desmond. 

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Desmond Staples is urged to contact the Detroit Police Department's 3rd Precinct at 313-596-1340. Alternatively, tips can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up. "Please help us find missing Desmond Staples. If you have any information, please call the Detroit Police Department's 3rd Precinct," reads a statement on the official Facebook post from the Detroit Police Department's Missing Persons unit.
