Dolly Parton, an icon in the realms of music and philanthropy, is setting her sights on a different kind of roadside attraction. In partnership with Tennessean Travel Stop, Parton is planning to launch Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stops, a rebranding and upgrading of the existing travel stop network, with a projected debut set for early summer 2026 starting in Cornersville, Tennessee, as reported by MusicRow. The initiative plans to blend Parton's understanding of travelers' desires with the practical needs of those on the road, in a setting imbued with the spirit of Tennessee.
"I have spent the bulk of my life on the road, and more specifically on a bus," Parton told Knox News. "All the years spent visiting greasy spoon cafes, truck stops and roadside pit stops have given me an understanding of what travelers desire on the road." Parton believes her concept will create a place that "feels like home and recharges you for the rest of your journey," filling a void for commuters and travelers alike. Details regarding the specific offerings and design style for the upcoming travel stops, however, remain under wraps, according to WATE.
Gregory H. Sachs, Chairman and CEO of Tennessean Travel Stop and Sachs Capital Group, emphasized the rooted community connections of the Tennessean brand. "The Tennessean has long been a ‘home away from home’ for truck drivers, travelers, and locals alike," Sachs explained to MusicRow. The overhaul, according to Sachs, will not only revitalize the service but also cater to a contemporary audience, while preserving the welcoming spirit the establishment is known for.
The flagship location in Cornersville will undergo transformations during its normal operation, aiming to minimize disruption to services. Facilities will see the introduction of curated dining, regional retail, and modern amenities—all designed to enhance the travel experience. The renovations promise to fulfill a traveler's basic needs, from hygiene to hunger, with the added flair of entertainment. Further information about expansion plans and additional locations under Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stops brand is awaited in 2026.
