A fatal crash occurred on Wednesday at 478 Peachtree Street NE in Atlanta when a vehicle left the roadway and hit a building. According to a press release from the Atlanta Police Department, the incident happened around 4:38 p.m., and emergency responders arrived shortly after.
The driver, traveling north on Peachtree Street NE, may have experienced a medical emergency before the vehicle veered off the road and struck the structure. He was taken to a hospital but died on the way. His identity has not been released as the investigation continues.
The Atlanta Police Department’s Accident Investigations Unit is reviewing all circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional injuries were reported. Authorities are also assessing the condition of the building that was struck. Traffic delays and rerouting occurred in the area while investigators worked at the scene.
